While the CBR 1000 RR Fireblade seems to be an evolution of its predecessor, it is indeed an entirely new machine that presents Honda in 2017. In the end, the CBR 1000 RR is a competitive machine compared to the competition with in particular a leading "electronics": HSTC control system more efficient adjustable independently of the anti-Wheeling, throttle control ride-by-wire more lively at the go-around and softer to cut. The original Bosch ABS is both more efficient and has gained a few pounds. Unfortunately, the 1000 RR is still without shifter, very surprising considering the claims of Honda compared to competitors.
The design has also been revised with sharper lines in keeping with the efficiency and renewed aggressiveness of the Fireblade.
On the mechanical side, the 999cc block with the same bores x races wins 11 horses in part thanks to the increase in the compression ratio to 13: 1. This is fine but it does not allow the CBR 1000 RR to enter the clan 200 horsepower and more (BMW S 1000 RR, Suzuki GSXR 1000 RR, Kawasaki ZX-10 R, Ducati V4 and Yamaha YZF R1).
Finally the Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade gains 15 kg on the scale thanks to a work of slimming which has covered everything down to the smallest detail like the length of the screws! As can be seen, the CBR 1000 RR has not been designed as its competitors, here no ultimate performance that restricts the use to certain Elite. On the other hand, the CBR 1000 RR proves to be a very homogeneous set, in keeping with the Honda spirit, so very efficient and very exploitable but also very effective.
Termignoni looked at the impressive and relatively heavy CBR 1000 RR exhaust system despite the use of titanium. Thus, the manufacturer Transalpin with multiple world titles proposes for the CBR 1000 RR a range Slip on which is declined in the two versions SO1 (reference H159094SO01) which is the conical version titanium with carbon end and SO2 (reference H159094SO02) which is the version GP Style "classic with all round carbon silencer.
